Marcello Fantoni (1915-2011)
Marcello Fantoni, born in Florence in 1915, began his artistic journey at the Institute of Art Porta Romana in 1927. Graduating in 1934, he established his own ceramic workshop in Florence, gaining renown for his unique and series pieces exhibited since 1937. Post-World War II, he expanded his creative pursuits, achieving heightened success in the 1960s and 1970s with innovative sculptures blending contemporary aesthetics with references to antiquity. In 1970, he founded a Ceramic Art School in Florence, where he taught and created until his death in 2011.
