Jean Linard (1931 - 2010)
Jean Linard was a French ceramist, painter and visionary builder, best known for his monumental open-air Cathedral in Neuvy-Deux-Clochers, built between 1983 and 2010. Inspired by Gaudí, the Palais Idéal of the Facteur Cheval and the Maison Picassiette, his work blends ceramics, mosaic and architecture into a unique, colourful artistic universe. Based in La Borne from 1958, he also created sculptural and functional ceramics, welcoming numerous young ceramists to his workshop.
